"The scenario," Godard said, "is written at the end". The French master's final work Scénario was detailed through notebooks, composed of images (paintings, drawings, photos) and text (quotes or inventions). These notebooks are movies on paper before being formed into Scénario(s): freed from the technical apparatus of cinema, Godard assembles them through shifts, pentimenti, and repetitions, as a counterpoint to the themes developed in his previous works.

This volume brings together the five Scénario notebooks, reproduced identically to the originals, preserving every painterly mark and the physical texture of Godard's handiwork.

These are available to order through Le Livre d’Image Éditions now. Printed in a Limited Edition of 1,000 copies, of which 100 are available in the UK. This edition also includes a booklet with an English translation and essays.
